HISTORY

1951 - Creation of "Société d'Extinction Scientifique" - Industrial Company for Development of Safety - in Paris area,  specialized in small capacity extinguishers, intended for the local market, which became SIDES, later.

Some years later, the first foam fire fighting vehicles for Civil and Military Aviation as well as for refineries are manufactured in the Champigny sur Marne facilities.

1965 - A new plant installed in Saint-Nazaire under the SIDES Company name. The same year, a new marine department is opened to design fixed fire fighting systems for ships manufactured in the neighbouring shipyards.

1970 - SIDES becomes a member of the SICLI group and starts to be export oriented. Less than 10 years later, half of the production is exported. Then, SIDES is focused on vehicles technology and enters the Civil Defence market.

1994 - SIDES applies for the ISO 9002 and is awarded the certification as an official recognition of performance and quality. SIDES is the first company in this field of activity to be awarded this certification in France.

2000 - Known world wide, SIDES joins the KIDDE group.

2003 -  ISO 9001 new version certification.

2005, the KIDDE Group joins UTC Fire and Security, part of UTC company.
